Title: Mi'kmak/Maliseet Healing Networking Centre

Project Description:

The Mi'kmaq/Maliseet Healing Networking Center is a blend of an add-on program for physical and sexual abuse trauma and a mobile treatment unit. The cycle of care involves recruitment, assessment, individual counselling and planning, active disclosure, group sessions, residential group therapy, and aftercare services.

This project will provide safe, progressive out-patient healing activities until participants are ready and willing to take part in a residential healing program. The residential program will be delivered as add-on services for the current addictions treatment centres at Tobique and Big Cove. Healing activities will be coordinated and delivered by the healing teams, with support from current treatment centre staff.  Residential treatment will be supplemented by an extensive aftercare program. This will be available to participants who have not opted for a residential school program but who have received counselling, therapy and/or other healing services and require assistance to continue on their healing journey.
