Title: Our Healing Journey
Project Description:
The "Balanced Lifestyle Program" provides the following components: Introduction to Violence, Childhood, Adolescence and Adulthood/Alternatives to Violence. The process includes group discussions, exercises, role plays, films, sharing and talking circles. Topics aimed at the 'ME' such as Self-Esteem, Self-Acceptance, etc.; other topics aimed at 'ME AND MY FAMILY' such as Discipline, Sexual Assault/Incest, Adult/Parent/Child, Family Violence and finally other topics aimed at 'ME AND MY COMMUNITY'. The program and design considerations will include input from Residential School Survivors and their families in order to adapt the model to the specific needs of the community.
