Title:  First Nation House of Healing

The First Nations House of Healing Mission: Provides a safe environment to support a community- based system of healing to former students and their families who have been affected by the legacy of physical and sexual abuse suffered in Residential Schools.

The First Nations House of Healing is accountable to Former Students of Residential Schools, Intergenerational Survivors, the Aboriginal Healing Foundation and ITHA.

Goal: To address the healing needs of Aboriginal people affected by the legacy of abuse in Indian Residential Schools including Intergenerational impacts.

 

Project Description:

The Mission of the First Nations House of Healing is to support a community based system of healing for Aboriginal people on Vancouver Island who are affected by the legacy of physical and sexual abuse in Residential Schools.The project will  deliver three levels of residential healing programs (introductory, basic and intense) to meet the specific needs of individuals affected by the legacy of physical and sexual abuse in the residential schools.To deliver summer youth and early intervention adolescent camps for kids who have been affected by the intergenerational impact of the residential schools.
