Project Title: Nlaka'pamux Cultural Reconnection and Treatment Project
Project Description:
The project will provide clinical counselling for men, women and youth
to address issues of family violence, Sexual Abuse issues and Physical
Abuse.
The project will provide healing gatherings every two weeks to allow
men, women and youth to speak more openly about Physical and Sexual
abuse in Residential Schools, to explore personal abuse issues and to
increase understanding of the Legacy of Physical and Sexual Abuse in
Residential Schools. Traditional healing activities and ceremonies will
also be provided as part of the program activities.
The project will provide a series of workshops that, in conjunction
with the clinical counselling, will enable Survivors to progress in
their healing journeys.
