Title: Kelowna Métis Healing Services
Project Description:
The project will continue to provide the Kelowna Metis Healing Services
(KMHS) program, a sexual abuse recovery service for Aboriginal people
living in the Central Okanagan region who are affected by the Legacy of
Residential Schools.
The project will employ a Sexual Abuse Recovery Therapist to provide individual, marital, family and group therapy sessions. The therapist will also provide crisis intervention sessions.
The project will provide traditional healing activities such as healing circles, sweats, support groups and Elders support session.
The project will also educate the community and community agencies about the services provided by the KMHS program and the Legacy of Residential Schools.
