Title: The Ginew Centre For Healing
Project Description:
The Ginew Centre for Healing proposes to address healing needs related
to physical and sexual abuse in residential schools by offering
workshops on traditional spiritual healing; group workshops based on
the Five Freedoms: Satir Model; historical workshops on the impacts of
residential schools and colonialism; Family Reconstruction and
Communication workshops; traditional healing ceremonies,
mainstream/alternative healing methods (meditation, visioning, etc.);
and encouraging members of the Roseau River community to reach out to
neighbouring communities to share their healing.
