Title: Women/Youth Healing Program

Project Description:
The Women/Youth Healing Program addresses healing needs related to Survivor and Intergenerational impacts of Physical and Sexual Abuse in Residential Schools by conducting six 8 week, live in treatment sessions with 20 women per session (120 per year); the women then move into a six week Outreach day program and youth will attend six week Outreach evening (involving family members in the reconciliation process; including individual's and families in counselling sessions; generating interest in traditional identities and cultural practices for women, youth, family and communities; involving community healers and traditional practices as part of the healing process; hosting four annual public meetings to obtain feedback and measure public awareness; and, sharing information via the NACM website, local papers, and a monthly newsletter to affiliated organizations and agencies).
