Title: Continuation of Healing Programs
Project Description:
This project will provide counselling, talking circles and aftercare
support to members of the community and incarcerated individuals at the
Labrador Correctional Centre to provide a safe environment for them to
express emotions and deal with issues in a positive way.
The project will provide education and awareness sessions which will focus on topics such as Family Violence, Addictions, Healthy Living, Self-Care, Mental Health Awareness and Cultural Awareness.
The project will provide workshops and cultural awareness circles to allow participants to reconnect to their cultural way of life and to build self-confidence, self-esteem and cultural pride.
