Project Title: Labrador Inuit Healing Project
Project Description:
This project will provide programming to the communities of Northwest
River/Happy Valley Goose Bay, Hopedale, Makkovik and Rigolet.
The project will provide support groups for Survivors and community members in each of the communities.
The project will provide one-on-one counselling and a five week
treatment program in Hopedale and healing circles in Northwest
River/Happy Valley Goose Bay. The project will collect Residential
School Survivor stories in Makkovik and provide land based healing
outings in Rigolet.
The project will also promote community and family wellness, provide
traditional healing activities and a parenting program in each of the
communities.
