Title: Healing in the Inuvialuit Settlement Region

Project Description:
This project will provide services to the communities of Aklavik, Inuvik, Paulatuk, Tuktoyaktuk and Holman.

In Aklavik, the project will provide support groups for men, women and Survivors; on-the-land healing camps; family time program to promote healthy family interaction; wellness workshops; and a youth drop in program. The project will also provide basic counselling training for project staff in this community.

In Inuvik, the project will provide healing opportunities for men through a drop in program and an on-the-land healing program. The project will provide support groups for women, Survivors and parents as well as wellness workshops. The project will also provide basic counselling training for staff of this community.

In Paulatuk, the project will provide individual and group counselling; support groups for men, women and Survivors; wellness workshops; family time program to promote healthy family interaction; and youth programming to provide a safe environment for youth.

In Tuktoyaktuk, the project will provide support groups for men, women and Survivors; wellness workshops; and family time program to promote healthy family interaction. The project will
also provide basic counselling training for staff of this community.

In Holman, the project will provide support groups for men, women and Survivors. The project will
provide family programming such as a family nights and on-the-land programming to promote
healthy family interaction. The project will also provide wellness workshops for community
members and basic counselling training for project staff.

March 31, 2010
