Title: Special Prevention Program
Project Description:
The project will address the Intergenerational Impacts of the Legacy of
Physical and Sexual Abuse in Residential Schools on the youth in
Kugluktuk.
The project will provide supportive peer counselling and referrals to youth. The peer support counsellors will receive training in suciide prevention and debriefing to strengthen their skills in helping the youth in the community.
The project will provide workshops to address Residential School Impacts and will provide a drop in program and on-the-land healing camps to assist the youth on their healing journeys.
