Project Title: Pujualussait Healing Initiatives
Project Description:
The project will promote healing in the Pangnirtung through the
provision of one-on-one counselling and workshops which will help
community members to address the impacts that Residential Schools had
on their lives. It will provide training to project staff and community
workers to increase their ability to provide healing services to the
community; it will provide ongoing aftercare support to community
members returning from treatment to ensure that they do not relapse and
have support in place to ensure their ongoing safety. The project will
provide programming for youth to help them break the cycles of violence
and abuse which stems from the impacts of Residential Schools. The
youth programming will also provide a safe environment for youth to
interact and build healthy, positive relationships.
