Project Description:
This project will
utilize the services of trained Elders to provide a twelve-week healing program, three times a year, starting with the Youth. The two first weeks will involve
project participants in traditional camps to assimilate Innu value and
practices. During a period of six weeks, there will be two-hour weekly
meetings to discuss different topics: ie. addictions, Intergenerational
communication, suicide, understanding, etc. During these weeks,
traditional activities are scheduled involving Youth and Elders. The
four following weeks, the scheduled activities will focus on Youth and
families to renew or reopen communications. The project team will be overseen by a psychologist.
