Project Title:
Healing the Multi-generational Effects of Residential School Placement Urban Access Program
Project Description:
The
project provides therapy services using the Medicine Wheel format:
counselling; drug & alcohol counselling; healing circles; teaching
anger management and impulse control regarding low self concept while
giving advocacy support; culturally appropriate parenting practices as
part of individual counselling programs; home visits; sweats;
traditional healing and helping ceremonies; and an Elders Advisory
Council. The project will provide Medicine Wheel para-professional
counselling training using methods that restore the culture of origin
to communities.
