Project Title: The Shared Vision Centre for Trauma Treatment and Resolution

Project Description:

1) To address the Legacy of Abuse and Intergenerational Impacts of Residential Schools by using traditional healing and contemporary therapy approaches in the File Hills Qu'Appelle health service area and to effectively reduce the impact of trauma on adult First Nations Survivors of child abuse, accidents, injuries, and emotional shock.
2) To provide family therapy services to traumatized First Nations family systems in the area.
3) To improve the quality of community healing services in reserve communities by enhancing the wellness of front-line workers serving the members of First Nations in the File Hills Qu'Appelle health administration area. Front-line workers will be provided with a specific set of support services, including counselling, trauma therapy and stress management training as well as other skills related to effectively working with Survivors of Residential School Abuse.
